Moderate air quality was seen over the midwest and fires in the area (red dots) were noted from the USDA MODIS fire page. Ozone is low over much of the continental US and high over the water in the NOAA forecast guidance page.

Weekly Summary: The week brought remarkably clear conditions across the country with few cases of moderate air quality. Early in the week Amy gave us a lesson on the Norwegian Cyclone Model . On Tuesday, Ruben found an event of highly depolarizing aerosols in the lidar measurements, but the winning post for the week is Amy's image of the Central American smoke. Amy's suffering with a full disk on ALG gets her the April Fool's Day prize.
