Ozone is cooking in California

California has multiple hits of unhealthy for sensitive people from Napa to Southern California. It is pretty evident that ozone is the culprit.

The KABC Webcams in the San Fernando Valley (left) and Long Beach (right) shows that there is haze.

AIRNowTech's playback of today's ozone readings in LA (top) and the San Joaquin Valley (bottom) show that the ozone is elevated over 80 ppb over a widespread area. We can't pick up the NO2 column from OMI today but it would be good to look at that data when it is available.

In North Dakota and Minnesota, NOAA HMS Fire Counts from MODIS and GOES are showing numerous burn areas. This looks to be springtime burning of fields is moving north.
