International: Another view of smoke in Malaysia

I wasn't going to blog again so soon on the smoke here, but we had clear skies over the southern part of Malaysia today, making the smoke very easy to see in the MODIS Terra image below. Here is a NOAA-18 map of the fire hot spots from the Singapore National Environmental Agency.

My friends from Malaysia and Singapore have said the smoke now is mild compared to events in past years. I would be curious to know the AOD levels today given that the cloud-free skies might make them possible to retrieve.
