Still smoke over south western Canada and northern US, some “moderate” air conditions in the eastern US and California

According to the HMS map (top, left) and the SSD fire team, a large smoke plume extends southeast from British Columbia through much of Alberta and Saskatchewan and into southern Manitoba and then into the Dakotas, Minnesota, northern Wisconsin and northern Michigan.
This aerosol plume seems to originate from wildfires over the Yukon and northern British Columbia. A closer look to the MODIS AQUA RGB image (top, right) shows visible smoke over southern Vancouver Island. This leads to strong AQUA AOD values (bottom, left) over southern Canada and the northern US.
According to Mark Fromm at NRL, Pyroconvection is bubbling in the Yukon and British Columbia. This morning, the Canadian Wildland Fire Information System (CWFIS) shows extreme fire behavior predictions over large parts of western Canada, including where these fires are. Again, according to Mark, this could have started in Mongolia.

Finally, the air conditions at the ground (bottom, right) are, at the most, “moderate” in the eastern part of the US and California through out the day. The ozone levels are “moderate” in southern British Columbia.
