AQI in Florida and Georgia improving; Ozone levels still good.

Today AIRNow map shows an improvement in the air quality in the South US (Florida and Georgia) compared to the past couple of days (top, left). In California, Texas and Midwest the air quality remains relatively the same, presenting scattered moderate levels. Ozone levels are still good ranging momentarily to moderate in Canada, by South of The Prairies.

Still in Canada, SSD fire team at NOAA reported smoke over Central Canada and Northern US (top, right). MODIS Terra true image (bottom, left) shows a little region of smoke over Saskatchewan and Alberta. In the Northern US no smoke layer could be observed due to the cloud coverage. MODIS Terra shows a region in Montana with higher AOD values (bottom, right) which indicates that the smoke although not observed is actually there. The AOD map also shows higher values in South Texas and also over the Atlantic which seems to be the same hazy area that Meloe reported on last Thursday but now dispersing northward.
