Update on the fires in Canada and US

Today AIRNow maps show the AQI for PM2.5 and Ozone up to 11:00am EDT only. Until then, the air quality was moderate in Oklahoma and almost all the way from the Great Lakes region down to Florida (top, left) and ozone levels were good.
HMS fires map shows today a decrease in the area covered by smoke in Central Canada and some smoke over Alaska (top, right).
From MODIS Terra images we could observe some smoke plumes over Central Canada, Northwest Mexico and South US, respectively. The last image is the MODIS Terra AOD map which shows areas of higher values of AOD in Canada still due to the remnant smoke. Presenting not so high values of AOD but still noticeable by contrast is the borderline region between Mexico and Texas and also over the Atlantic offshore North Carolina.
