Smoke over Ontario/Quebec and Gulf of Mexico

Today AIRNow AQI map (top, left) shows moderate levels of PM2.5 in most of the Southeast and Southern California and also in parts of Midwest. Ozone levels ranged from good to moderate in California, Wyoming, and Midwest.
HMS fires map reported smoke over the triple border Nebraska/Kansas/Missouri region and also over Ontario/Quebec which according to the SSD fire team at NOAA was related to fires on the eastern shore of James Bay. Other fires scattered across the Southeast of US were reported as well (top, right).

From MODIS Aqua true color image we could observe some haziness over the Gulf of Mexico (bottom, left) just offshore the South of US where higher values of AOD were reported (bottom, right; AOD animation for this region here).

And still looking at MODIS images, Terra true color image shows us the smoke over Ontario/Quebec region as reported by the SSD fire team at NOAA.
