Haze Along Gulf States. Good PM AQI Levels over the US.

A layer of haze extends over the states along the northern Gulf of Mexico, across Lousiana to the mouth of the Mississippi states, and in the northeastern Texas and southeastern Oklahoma can be seen in today's MODIS Terra True Color image (top left image, source:UW MODIS Today). This haze might have led to the high AOD reported by GASP over EPA's Region 4 (top right, source: NOAA IDEA) and Region 6 (bottom left, source NOAA IDEA). Good AQI PM2.5 concentrations (bottom right, source: EPA Airnow) were recorded throughout most of the US, with MODERATE AQI levels prevailing areas were the light haze described before was observed and California.
