Moderate to Unhealthy ozone levels in California; Fires in British Columbia and Alaska/Yukon Province
Today ozone levels in California were ranging from moderate to unhealthy to sensitive groups and in Louisiana, Oklahoma and Kansas moderate levels.
AIRNow PM2.5 map for today (top, left) shows moderate AQI in Southern Texas and Florida like yesterday and the air quality conditions in the East seem to be worsening again, from good to moderate conditions.
NOAA’s Hazard Mapping System (top, right) reports a dense smoke coming from Alaska and Yukon province fires and also smoke over the Northwest coming from southern British Columbia fires.
From Terra MODIS true color image both cases could be observed: On the left side just one portion of the smoke from Alaska/Yukon province fires can be seen over the Yukon Territory and on the right side is the British Columbia wildfire.
Terra MODIS AOD map (below) shows higher AOD values over northern Idaho where smoke has been reported.
