Smoke from the wildfire in British Columbia, discussed yesterday by Meloe, and one in Washington State continue to spread across the southern portion of British Columbia moving southeast over Montana, North Dakota and as far south as northern Oklahoma and Arkansas with denser smoke stretching out over South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa, as it can be observed in the MODIS Terra RGB image (top left, source: UW MODIS Today). The cloud coverage over Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Idaho and western South Dakota does not allow a proper assessment of the total contribution of the smoke on today's MODIS Terra AOD (top right).
Moderate PM2.5 AQI levels (bottom left) , were recorded along the Ohio River Valley, Texas, the Carolinas, Georgia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Ozone levels (bottom right) reached unhealthy levels in California, Texas and Louisiana, according to EPA's Airnow.
