"Unhealthy for sensitive groups" in Southern California and smoke covers California, Nevada, Idaho and Montana

Today's TERRA AOD map (top, left) shows strong light extinction values over California (especially in the South, near Los Angeles), Nevada, Idaho and Montana. In deed, according to the AQUA RGB image (top, right), a smoke plume covers a significant part of California. The HMS map (bottom, left) and the SSD fire team at NOAA reports light smoke from fires in the Western US covering much of the country except for the Pacific Northwest, Eastern Seaboard, Gulf Coast states and the Southwest. The EPA AIRNow's PM2.5 map (bottom, right) shows "unhealthy for sensitive groups" conditions in Southern California. The rest of the country shows, at the most, "moderate" air conditions in the East. The ozone levels also show "unhealthy for sensitive groups" conditions around Los Angeles, California.
