Moderate AQI in California and much of the East

Air quality conditions are moderate in California (left image). The AOD is ~0.5 (right image; IDEA) in the LA area. Smoke from fires may be contributing to the surface AQI conditions (see Ruben's post). Regional haze is present over most of the Eastern half of the country. The AOD was elevated over this part of the country as well, which coincides with EPA AIRNow PM2.5 surface monitors. AQI conditions are moderate over much of the East with unhealthy for sensitive groups present in Ohio.
