Today smoke was spread over a very extensive area of US and also Canada. The source for all this smoke was mainly both southern California and southern British Columbia fires according to HMS at NOAA (map: top, left).
On the right hand side is the MODIS Terra true color image and the red circle is the location of the Station Fires in California for which the South Coast Air Quality Management District issued a Smoke Advisory. The document reports that the smoke has caused unhealthy to hazardous air quality in the San Gabriel Mountains and the West San Gabriel Valley.
