Smoke continues over great portion of US and Canada; High Ozone levels in Los Angeles and Houston.

Today's NOAA's Hazard Mapping System Fire and Smoke Product continues showing a big portion of US and Canada covered by the smoke due to large burning fires discussed previously (top left).
The smoke has covered much of the US Plains and Great Lakes states, the Mississippi, Ohio and Tennessee Valleys, Nevada, Utah and as expected, California (top right). Moderately dense smoke has also covered portions of Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, the Dakotas and northwestern Arizona. Due to this smoke, Today's MODIS TERRA AOD map continues to show high AOD values.

Although PM2.5 levels in Los Angeles have been stable during the day. Ozone levels have reached from "Moderate" to "Unhealthy" in the afternoon (bottom right). In addition to Los Angeles, high Ozone levels were read in Houston Texas (bottom left).
