Smoke and haze in California

Air quality in US was good today with exception to California once again. Moderate to unhealthy (code orange) PM2.5 levels were predominant in the west as can be seen in AIRNow loop (top, left). Code orange could be seen mainly over San Joaquin Valley in California, where we could also see haze in MODIS Terra image (top, right). Still in California HMS at NOAA reported a fire (bottom, left) between San Jose and Santa Cruz which is also shown in MODIS image and in the AOD map (bottom, right).
