Dust over Eastern China / Korea

Today moderate conditions were present not only in the West Coast of US but also in the Midwest and some regions in the Northeast and Southeast as well. Other than a peak of code red and orange in California and South Carolina respectively, there was nothing else to be reported. AIRNow combined AQI map is provided here.

However in Eastern Asia blowing dust could be seen in MODIS RGB images today (Terra; top, left). Today's model from NAAPS also shows the dust (top, right). Air quality in Korea can be followed in AIRKOREA website which has a very friendly interface.

From MODIS LAADS Web (Level 2 Browser) we can see AOD over Eastern Asia, showing high values over Eastern China (bottom images).
