Haze and Clouds in the Midwest

The air quality is moderate in the Midwest/Central U.S (left image; EPA AIRNow). Light haze mixed with clouds was present around the Great Lakes region (right image; UW MODIS Direct). The AOD (IDEA) was slightly elevated (0.2) in this region. Haze was not obvious anywhere else.

California's air quality reached the unhealthy for sensitive groups level (see EPA AIRNow map). Parts of Idaho and Montana have moderate air quality as well.

The rest of the country has good air quality.
