A study was done about the different AOD indication in February 2010 for the Nepal region. A time series AOD value were observed using Giovanni website. The time series AOD value showed that there was low AOD(0.26) value in Feb 6 which must be due to rain in the western part of Nepal and suddenly the AOD (0.37) value rises up to Feb 9 and again dropped after Feb 9 up to AOD(0.35) probably due to rain. AOD (0.41) value is highest on Feb 12 which must be due to the holy festival "Maha Shivaratri" in that particular day people all over the country light the fire to celebrate.

The true colour images from MODIS Rapid Response System also supported the time series AOD value. It showed that on 6th Feb AOD value is about 0.26 so the true color Air quality is clear.

Tables: Meteorological Data February 6, 2010 (left) and February 12, 2010 (right)

The analysis shows that events happening in some particular places contribute to the global climate. Ground instruments for meteorological information are not sufficient but using satellite image air quality could be analyzed and assessed of a specific region.
