Today, moderate levels of PM2.5 were observed scattered across the US: over the Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, South and West Coast mainly (top, left).
In Texas, moderate to unhealthy levels of ozone (top, right) were also observed. Reports on high levels of tropospheric ozone will unfortunately become more frequent as we welcome Spring with its warmer days and lots of sunlight.
HMS team (bottom, left) reported a number of fires in Central US but smoke didn't seem to be a problem today. They also reported a plume of aerosols over the Gulf of Mexico, which was also observed by MODIS Aqua with high AOD values.
