Code Orange PM2.5, Moderate Ozone, and High NO2 Levels in Southern
PM2.5 levels (top left, courtesy
AIRNow) reached Code Orange (Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups) in eastern Oklahoma and southern California. Code Yellow
PM2.5 levels were observed in southern California, Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic, Northeast and South regions. Ozone levels (top right) shows Code Yellow (Moderate) conditions in the Northeast and Louisiana.
NOAA's Hazard Mapping System (HMS, bottom left) shows smoke from fires that are located in northern California, Arizona, and Minnesota. OMI reported high tropospheric NO2 in southern California. Moderate NO2 levels were observed along the eastern half of the country.
