Isolated Moderate AQI continues; Elevated AOD juxtaposed to FL peninsula

Moderate PM2.5 AQI were observed today across the Great Lakes, Mid West, and Pacific Southwest states, including a patch of Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups near southeast Arizona (top left,courtesy Airnow). Portions of southern California also experienced Moderate ozone levels (top right, courtesy Airnow). Smoke plume observations were limited over the United States, with the largest areas found over western Louisiana (bottom left, courtesy HMS Analysis). Although the smoke plumes from the Florida fires were not significantly detected in the analysis, MODIS RGB overlaid with AOD imagery from the Terra satellite illustrate large areas of elevated AOD just offshore the peninsula (bottom right).
