INTERNATIONAL FEATURE:
Today's
MODIS Image of the day comes from southern Siberia in Russia. Smoke from fires was observed by
MODIS Aqua satellite on May 7, 2012. Heavy winds, dry conditions, and no rain in the forecast are helping the the fires spread throughout the region. Most of the wild fires in this region are caused by human activity (agricultural or camping fires). Over 300 people have been deployed the fire.
