Unhealthy PM2.5 Concentrations in Idaho and Smoke over Pacific Northwest and Central Plains States

Fires burning in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming continue to produce smoke (top left image, NOAA Hazard Mapping System Fire and Smoke Product) that covers a large portion of the continental US, stretching from Idaho eastward/southeastward to the Central Plains as far south as central Kansas and then northeastward towards the Great Lakes. The Mustang Complex, Halstead, and the Trinity Ridge continue to burn as seen in the MODIS Aqua RGB/"True Color" image (fire locations are indicated with red dots). PM2.5 concentrations over in Idaho reached Code Purple (Hazardous) levels. The PM2.5 timeseries below show that concentrations in Salmon, Idaho have been greater than 150 ug m-3 since yesterday.
