Moderate and Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups AQI in Southern Plains, Great Lakes and Mid Atlantic states

Air quality was generally good this Christmas Eve for most of the nation. Code Yellow (Moderate) PM2.5 conditions were recorded across portions of the Mid Atlantic, Great Lakes and Plain states with the worst conditions, Code Orange (Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups) recorded in eastern Oklahoma (top left). Interestingly, Accuweather's snow accumulation forecast paints a similar picture as today's AQI (top right). Today's MODIS Terra pass indicates slightly elevated AOD across eastern Texas and and southern Oklahoma. Unfortunately widespread cloud cover in Oklahoma obscured AOD retrievals (top right).
