Scattered areas of Moderate AQI in terms of PM2.5 were recorded across portions of the Rocky Mountain, Pacific Southwest, Great Lakes and Southeast states today (top left, courtesy AIRNow). However the nation's worst air quality were observed yet again in eastern Utah, particularly in Roosevelt and Ourey, Utah where a swath of snow blankets the region (top right). According to AIRNow, surface ozone in the aforementioned towns spiked later in the day on Sunday into the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range before slightly improving this afternoon to Moderate levels (middle). Air Quality Action Days were issued for numerous towns throughout the state today and forecast for tomorrow as air quality is expected to remain poor (bottom left). Elsewhere, the HMS analysis team reported a plume of smoke drifting off the Florida peninsula which is believed to be from a metal recycling plant near Hillsborough Bay (bottom right).
