Good Air Quality; Some small fires in Tx and Fl

Nothing really new or significant to say about the air quality today, PM2.5 levels were good over most of the Nation with some moderate levels read in California, Utah and Missouri (top left). Some fires have been burning in Florida and Texas during the last hours, although some plumes are visible they are not consider significant (top right). On the other hand, HMS also reported an area of thin smoke from previous night's fires near Port Lavaca in Calhoun county TX that has been drifting east this morning and is currently located from the mouth of Galveston Bay. It extends SE about 200 km and is about 30km wide.
Finally, MODIS AOD retrieval shows high AOD levels in the cloud free areas, which is the same areas where some fires have been taking place as well (bottom).
