Wild fires continue to burn throughout the nation, as shown by the HMS image to the right, particularly in the west in western central California and Idaho. Smoke plumes are associated with these fires. The air quality around these fires varied from moderate, to unhealthy, and very unhealthy as the day progressed. These wildfires are associated with smoke plumes shown in the HMS image, and the Numerous fires also burn in Oklahoma, Nebraska, and in the South. A smoke plume extending from Canada into Texas, just west of the Mississippi River Valley. Elsewhere, moderate air quality was reported over the South, extending westward into the Mississippi River Valley and Texas. Some patches of Code Orange, Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups was reported during the day in Texas and Oklahoma.
