Weekend Edition: Cold weather continues to stream out of Canada; Elevated PM in Oregon

The AIRNOW AQI loop shows that the northern end of the San Joaquin Valley and Oregon continue to show elevated PM readings into the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range. There is a fire plume in the northern California central valley but not much else to report in the way of air quality impacts in the west. In the east, streamers of snow can be seen coming across Lakes Superior (lower left) and Michigan (lower right). It doesn't look like we will get much respite from the cold here in Maryland until middle part of next week at the earliest.
