Poor AQI continues in Southern California; High NO2 in Mid-Atlantic and Great Lakes

Air Quality conditions today throughout the country are quite similar to those reported yesterday by Alex. Moderate AQI levels were observed in the north eastern states as well as in the Great lakes region (top left). Southern California continues to reach unhealthy level for sensitive groups. Hazard Mapping System did not report activity in terms of fire or smoke today (top right). AOD retrievals from MODIS instrument on AQUA satellite shows a significant aerosol loading over Texas and northern Mexico (middle left). High levels were also seen over the Mississippi Valley (middle right). Finally OMI tropospheric product indicates high NO2 levels over the Mid-Atlantic and Great lakes region (bottom).
