Limited aerosol data due to cloud coverage

Today, extensive cloud cover obscures much of the country limiting satellite products (top right). PM2.5 levels were in overall good in most of the country with some moderate readings in the Great Lakes and Mid-Atlantic region (top right). Moderate PM2.5 levels were also reached along the San Joaquin valley in California (top right). Hazard Mapping System indicates that even in free cloud areas there are no significant fires or aerosols are observed. However, aerosol optical depth retrieved by MODIS on AQUA satellite shows high AOD over Texas (bottom left).
