Forecasted dust in Arizona does not materialize

Now that the Smog Blog is back on line, we can catch up with today's forecasted air quality. The panel below left shows that code orange (hazardous for sensitive groups) was forecasted for a wide area of Arizona. The actual AQI loop for today does not show those concentrations at least to this point in the day.

Then NRL NAAPS forecast does not predict dust for today. The reason for the elevated AQI prediction was widespread dust that blew across the state yesterday. On the right below is the front of dust in Gilbert Arizona yesterday.

And in other good news, after having a broken router connection at UMBC for nearly a month, we are now pushing MPL lidar data to GSFC again:
