Ozone along the coasts

We see little to no PM across the nation despite the heavy smoke in the Gulf of Mexico due to seasonal fires (EOSDIS, top left). These fires however may have contributed to the slight elevation of Ozone in the Southern Texas region as seen in the AirNow image below (top right). Small fires within the Southern Texas region and the border to Mexico had produced relatively small amounts of smoke but may have also been a contributor to the heightened AQI (HMS, bottom left). The Pacific Southwest region also observed low to moderate levels of Ozone in the area and it is believed that high temperatures and low winds in the morning had been a contributor to this elevation.
