DUST IN THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS

PM AQI was relatively low this weekend (AirNow, left), the average not exceeding moderate levels. Although, the southeast was one of the regions that experienced moderate AQI, potentially because of the active West Mims fire that has burnt over 150,000 acres. Other than this, there was no significant areas of remnant smoke over the weekend. Dust, on the other hand was blowing over the Rocky mountain states, as far north as Montana, with significant amounts in Wyoming, Utah, and New Mexico (VIIRS, right).
